Fishing
Report:
Have no fear the Trout are
here!
The trout bite is finally
getting really good. They have been hit & miss during
the summer, however, the next 2 months is when they will
be in really thick. They will usually eat just about anything
that moves and school heavily in matching sizes. So if
you are catching them in 12'’-14’' size and you want bigger
ones it's time to move spots, sometimes just a 100 yards
will make a difference. When you find the 16’'-19'’, that’s
the size you will keep catching; they really stay together
in size range.
Now time to get to my favorite; the Redfish. The reds have been incredible
all summer and will do nothing but continue to get better. Most of the reds
over the summer have been oversize, 23'’-32'’, with a few keepers mixed in.
The last few weeks most of the fish have been keepers 20'’-23'’(tournament
fish) with a few lunkers here and there. The water has been kind of dirty lately
and I've found that cut bait, menhaden and mullet, are working best.
Tarpon are still here and will be for about another month. As soon as they
leave, the bull redfish move into the sound so catching a BIG fish is still
an option. I've been telling my customers all summer long that fall fishing
is the best, and I mean it. So if you’re serious about going out and having
a great time catching lots of fish, give me a call and let’s go rip some lips
off.
